The EUI (the Departments and the Robert Schuman Centre for Advanced Studies) acts as a host institution for Marie Curie Fellowships which are awarded by the European Commission.

The 2011 call for Marie Curie Fellowships is published by the European Commission (FP7 PEOPLE), with a deadline of 11 August 2011.

The EUI organises a pre-selection with a deadline of 30 May. Candidates should ensure that they fulfill the conditions of eligibility and send an expression of interest to the EUI by e-mail at It should consist of the application form, a short CV and a two-page research proposal with a clear indication of why the EUI/the RSCAS would be the best host institution for their research. Two letters of reference should be sent directly by the referees by e-mail to References from current full-time/part-time EUI professors will not be accepted.

Before applying candidates should contact an EUI professor who would be willing to support their application and act as mentor. His/Her name should be indicated in the application form.

The EUI decides whether to accept the applicant and to support the application on the basis of an internal academic evaluation and the availability of suitable supervision. Priority is given to candidates whose profiles fit closely with existing interests and orientations at the EUI. The RSCAS gives priority to candidates whose research proposals fit well with one of the Centre’s core research themes

Candidates awill be informed of the result of the EUI pre-selection by the end of June.
